Workstation Platform

Ensure your PACS deployment is a success. Match the computing platform of every medical imaging application to your current and future workload demands. Richardson's integration team uses our design, service and support experience to develop medical imaging workstation platforms tailored to each institution's specific requirements.

Key considerations in the initial stages of platform development include:

Software Application Requirements
Establish the baseline processing requirements of your imaging software and operating system. Make sure the initial platform type will support any additional software applications added within the first 18-24 months of deployment.
Environment
Identify the physical location where the workstation will be used. Consider every environmental restriction that may impact processing power and platform functionality, such as space limitations, ambient temperature, mounting options, and operating system.
Expandability
Find out how critical workstation expandability is to your institution. Note whether processor expandability is a necessity, because it is not as easy to upgrade as memory, hard drive space, and optical drives.
Additional Peripherals
Be sure to include any additional peripherals and special imaging hardware that may be required for proper workstation functionality. These devices can include specialized keyboards, battery backups, isolation transformers, surge protectors, printers, and scanners.
